May 12, 2017 - The Amiel P. Zak Service fund, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, has awarded the Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association a grant of $25,000. This generous grant has been used to purchase a Ferno INX Inline stretcher for our new ambulance. The new stretcher lifts patients weighing up to 700 pounds without requiring the crew to lift the patient. The new stetchers have a tremendous effect on reducing lost time or even career-ending accidents relating to back injuries suffered by ambulance crews.
